Sky dance

The whoops and wails, Catherine wheel trails
Descending to land in a dance
And she watches afraid but can’t tear away
As beauty with horror unfolds
What is it exploding in marvellous dance above?
Has it come but to kill or cure
It’s broken the darkness of the skies with magnificent colour
But her eyes make her stay
Such a spectacle in mystical greens holding spectres
Purple gifts of hope entertwine
She knows she should run and hide
For it’s always been this way or you’ll bring on (she shivers)
The end of the world
These are the curses of woman they say
A dawning mind tells her who would know it was her
If it were true….
So she stands tall, taller still braving the storm expected
To find that after effects are simply this
The skies darken to only stars knowing
That she didn’t hide or flee
The most beauteous sight seeing but for now…
Can’t repeat.

Unmasking the gift

Quietly calm and willing to give of herself
There is no limit to the support offered
Never been told the credit limit is reached
A top up required
A repayment due
To those who are within her circle of trust
Holding up the walls around her hear the selected moments
The times she shares her side
Not just soaking up their troubles like an oily rag
Now?
She is allowing herself to think and be free
Giving still many a gift
But today she acquiesced that it’s really alright
To need rest
Ask for a hand to hold
In the twilight,  midnight,  darkness
Hell she is deserving and so worth it all
Filled to the brim now her knowing expands
Her learning or her staying will show things
In a wondrous three dimensional way
And she will be thankful for it all now
Her beauty
The type she sees as normal
Has just grown wings to make her fly high
Do I know her?……

Peace within the storm

It rages picking up throwing things
Whistling at windows as an angry wasp
Banging
On doors and walls
I’m coming in it’s telling you laughingly
But only when I decide to enter
Cower at my majestic work now my dears
Hurling rain like missiles to break the strongest
And the weak will follow it laughs
Which are you?
And as the lights dim and flicker like fairy lights
I feel a sense wrapping me in it’s blanket
A kind of peace that rolls through me
The details don’t matter
Something bigger has taken the control of everything
I yield to it happily as I can only breathe
Give it my full attention
My gratitude overflows at it’s wild gift

Stepping in to time

She steps in,  out,  forward around anything to not speak
Deep in the depths is that hidden away hazelnut
The one with the curse inside
Sometimes she dares herself to pour the secret out
Like a cup of molten chocolate thick and gooey
No longer worried about neat edges
Because it may spill everywhere
How much longer before she cracks the nut and it all
EXPLODES!!
And what then, what happens?
She sighs and watches while she lets the steam escape
Tamp it down a little longer
Forcing the lid on her secret self and making her lips smile
Because she is afraid of something
Herself
She’s getting sick of smiling in the face of her rage
Playing the role corrupt as it is
The nutshell has cracks and she is breaking free
When she is unleashed heaven help you for her storm breaking
Could bring your destruction

Waiting

You wait for me to comment on your created world
But this time it won’t happen
I watch quietly for you may disturb the resting
Phantoms
Should you do so fearing my angry roar will be the least
Of your worries
For I have warned you to beware the trees
They remember all your past doings and they wait
For you to become dust
And to strengthen their majestic dynasty
Yes I remember you have no fear of anything
No man, beast so you say
But you have your age old fear of the dark places
You know in the locked place
The one you call your heart
And I name an empty chamber of ghouls
That the darkness calls to you cosseting your ears
With a lovers smooth words
One day you will walk into your own forest
Full of ogres, spectres,  ghouls of days gone
You thought
And find yourself unable to escape from your own creation

Painted world

Watching in the mirror with a sultry smile painted on
She hides herself away
The glare of the masses harsh against her mind
Trying to change to create
A self that is accepted by others she nods
For now she’s covered herself up and who can tell?
The paint like a warriors woad designed with care
Impressive and exactly portraying something
Her power she thinks is an imaginary force
Coming with the paint
She will discover one day as she forgets powder and kohl
It was always there flowing
Just beneath the surface waiting to erupt
And change the world she inhabits

Wonder of the dance

Hardly a breath taken as she leans closer, closer still
Getting drawn in to her own astonishment as the tale dances in her veins
It takes her over and she is not an observer she is there
Audible intake of breath as the snow begins to fall inside the room fluttering down
Her hand clapped to her mouth
Head shaking in disbelief as the girl in the feathered tutu seems to fly across the boards
And she is so overcome the tears sting her eyelids but don’t break free
Incase they hamper her view of the wonders ahead
She is part of their world if even for a short time it’s a glimpse into myth and magic
But it’s true because she’s here and a witness to every move they make
She can believe in magic in its sparkly , twinkly beauty
Because magic shows its ugliness and glamour in equal measure and there’s always a way
A way through the dark, the fear
She leaves after the encore filled with a knowing otherness
She will make her own future and she is beautiful
She can be , she is magic.

Treasure trove

Like an old wooden treasure chest she sits there
Filled when the lid is opened with precious gems
Information cascades like a spilled pot of golden nuggets
The rubies,  diamonds, pearls glint to catch the sun
Holding it’s warmth she reels it inside
Intent on filling it with warmth and beauty, fire and love
She pushes down the darkness determined
If she ignores it it will disappear surely
Through the slats the darkness slowly pushes out
Forms foggy shrouds around her
She needs to open the chest more often know her own worth
If the treasure trove were stolen tomorrow
She would sparkle and gleam without it
For the stars live in her eyes
No shooting stars these
But perfect everlasting energy to glint forever
They are her soul her beautiful soul

Twisting on the hook

The woman extracts casually what she needs as he watches in fear
You must know it was harmless….he begins
To whom? Her eyebrow arches as no reply is heard
Pulling the cloak tighter she says quietly people can be broken
There is a price to be paid, when we carelessly cause hurt,
The scales weigh and measure the blackened removed heart
You expect to hurt, cause pain, destroy and casually stroll away?
His mouth opens and closes like a goldfish in a bowl, but no words
What I have here barely covers the amount required to mend your damage
So how do I get recompense? Her blackened nails tap finely on her chin
She stands a slight woman, and smiles in a way he cannot comprehend
What appears to be a ball of fire barrels forth from her widened jaws
Freezing cold it hits him, where he is twisting on the hook and he is still now
He opens his eyes and is in a different place, his own bed
But her voice rings in his head recompense, recompense, recompense
A dream, night terror, yes
But not the lonely trail of blood down his chest….

Water Land

She has swam these waters too long now
Borne their storms with faith it will get better because it has to
Doesn’t it?
Remaining hopeful that a balance can be struck
Between her time on land and her time immersed
Her need of the waters is rising an almost instinctive craving
To just swish through the waters
Losing the land
But regaining the fluid of her beloved waters
One last time, one last hope
Slipping through her fingers like sand through an eggtimer
The grains are running out and she could never stay
Forever
What it was always fleeting yet not
As she glides into the dark waters with moonlight reflecting
She takes a final look back to nod goodbye
To free herself
Her tail flipping as her life is restored
The mermaid leaves the land of Man knowing
To stay would destroy her
And the moon glows to give her blessing.
