Rolling mists

Her ethereal being floats shape changing

Undulates across, around beyond the horizon

No corporeal restraint on her

Laughter tinkling on the wind maybe?

Or have you conjured your own fears

To human form when something unknown bids you forth

And you tell yourself it’s nothing

She smiles as she moves to provoke attention

And gets it without effort

A shift here a flick there

You can breathe freely as light breaks through

And she rolls her shadowy back away from the sun

From other darkness shows

She will return remaining hidden until she is ready

To show you her command once more

You will enter her as she chooses the hook

With which she’ll snare you

Willingly you go to a possible end

Maybe pass through the mist as she swallows your being

To leave if she chooses your moment gone

And smiling whichever her decision

Built on a fable

The things you were sure were absolute truth

Lie in pieces on your minds cutting room floor

Stories force fed from childhood through youth

Leave you wondering what else you don’t know

As your beliefs have just fled through the door

There are dark things that whisper in the edge of your mind

Some may be real most are not

You regret thoughts you had about someone you knew

What was the need for such a secretive plot?

The answers to queries you’ll never receive

So let them go back before you

Make them  unimportant and give them no spot

Or your mind they’ll never leave

Treat them as memories someone wished to be true

But not as spectres to keep haunting you

Andrina

Andrina sits on the hillside watching

Events unfold at her feet

Seeing lives living and dying

She never misses a beat

Her curios and stories scattered everywhere

As toys on a playroom floor

All laid bare for none but her

She will change the ending once more

The wind whistles round at her fingertips

And she whispers words of yore

Screaming wildly that unhinged anger slips

Calling up a night of storms and thunder

Determined to have her will she dips

Dropped to ground she doesn’t care to touch

Watching as her little paradise shows

It’s never gonna be the green haven she craves

Till she tills at the earth mixing

The shadows are beautifully existing

Her voice howls and squeals as she goes

Swallowed by the mist

I heard the news that my nightmare was gone

That the past has set me free

No longer will I see you and shake while putting

A mask over my face, mind screaming RUN!!

The message that delivered the news made me sigh

Never wished you ill but no more checking out every

Direction because you might appear

One day

Thinking do I visit where the past dwells

Some things were subtle and I thought it imagined

You kept saying I’d never cope

But I did and I have

I can never forget the words that chilled my blood

After your tears had fallen in hot angry springs

The begging on deaf ears

The casual words of I wonder if we should get married

I wonder if a dead woman would be so bold

Always wanted to kill someone

And yet I don’t hate

You don’t exist anymore

My gratitude for the news that gives me peace immeasurable

Even if that makes me a monster

You are swallowed by the mist of time

Promise to dust

Promises fill the air floating as dust motes

See them dancing prettily full of maybes

This time is the whisper

Your hand grasps out not greedy but desperate

For this time to be the one time

And you can hold it close forever

Inhale it deeply to keep feeling it

Once more

Once more you see

The dust promise float away

You hide troth upon falsehood so it crumbles

Impermanent and imperfect

Like a frost that draws you to step up test it’s reality

And it melts, crumbling away to

The dust promise it always was

Happy New Year!!!

It’s been a very different year, this year. So many things have changed in the world at large and in my world.

As with everything we have to carry on ahead, whatever is thrown our way and sometimes it’s more difficult than we expected. I try to remain grateful and glad for the good things, the good friends and those who are part of my life.

Some wonderful friendships have been cemented and gained this year.

The world seems a mad place at the moment, but we can only fight by using honesty and compassion, caring for all and not giving the people who try to divide the world the chance to tear down the world by notions of blaming others for their blinkers instead of just removing them and seeing people as simply, well people!  Colour, sex etc don’t come into it.

Whatever you believe or don’t , at the dawn of 2017 , I wish you a Happy New Year and a blessed one.

Solstice night

I feel the chilling air frozen to my marrow

Yet the start of this ending is

Different and hopeful

Snow lies on the hills and sky heavy with it

Pinkish warning clouds like lamps to relay

The days are staying cold

Nights coming up inky blues and velvety black

Bright stars shining a warning of winters turn

The ground crunches frost underfoot my heart dancing

Quickening, body may be cold but the soul knows

To get to light the dark solstice must pass

Rest and reparations take place

The world will return to glory for next spring tide

Once again we will forget the rest time, the feast

No solstice is dark or light alone

Newness and endings come to all whatever the station

Stop, drink it in, rest, dancing at the fire

Then move ahead through mist and sun alike

They will return again and after we are dust

Remembrance

Your memories are safe here enshrined at the door

Of which we nod with gratitude and thanks evermore

We may not know a loved one lost in the fight you fought

But hearts thank you for bravery given without a second thought

You gave your lives for future freedom you may never see

But that of the children at home you’d never bounce upon your knee

Our poppy it is worn with your sacrifice in mind

Of the lives you left at home and wives you left behind

You did it all with love and justice beating in your hearts

A better world you could see if we could only start

So now in the poppy fields where wildest blooms do grow

Should we not show that in the driest earth love can surely grow?

We must always remember your willingness to die

But the underlying reason for future generations to have less reason to cry.

Please respect these wishes for a free world and try again

Before we inflict upon our children more horror death or pain.

Trample the fire

ailsacawley's avatarailsacawley

Her eyes are alive dancing a moment more than you like

You tune out for a while but hear her say

I’ll dance in moonlight later it’s full and energy will renew me

Trample it quick before the spark lights you think

They’ll call you a witch a faithless bitch ,and see your spit on her face

Fear made you sour your being sucked in and dry

But her you think she can’t have magic without me and know she can

Walk away without checking the fire was tamped down, trampled

Assuming your words were enough

Fool, fool hoots the owl on this hallowe’en eve not a word you hear

Moon streaming in through curtain less windows so afraid of the dark are you

She always joked she was bat like seeing in the shadows

Slipping away with a huntress stealth

To the garden and the fire in her burns

Slipping away with a huntress stealth

To the garden and the fire in her burns

Hottest, brightest wildest woman of then and now merge

Laying down on the grass soaked and cold her shivers connect her

She is of the earth, she is dust, she is starlight and shadow

In her mind she is powerful, racing and flying

Ahead and beyond and before

She is timeless and ageless, knows  she’s not faithless and now that she is seeing

The future of dreams that can happen he will trample the fire

No more
